Ten Things About Me
I'm about to tell you several facts about myself. This is fun because I don't normally tell people about all these things, but I was so excited when I thought about writing this post for everyone. The tag was coming from the lovely Vik from Magpie Girl ( check her wonderful blog if you haven't before) and later on I'm gonna pass this tag on several bloggers to do the relevant post too. So here they are, some facts you need to know about...
1. My Identities

I'm half Indonesian (Javanese) and half Chinese. I don't really look like my parent, and people can't tell whether I'm more Javanese or Chinese - I don't have strong ethnical characteristics. And it makes me feel quite awkward sometimes (but I get used to it).
2. My Height
I'm quite a petite girl. My height is 162 cm (or... approximately 5'4"only). For Indonesian, it's the average height... But internationally, I'm pretty short, and it's hard to find any vintage clothes on my size - I always need to reconstruct them all the time.
3. My Eating Habits

I adore the vegans for their passions to the living of every alive creature in the earth - I've been always wanted to be one but it's so hard to give up mainstream meals. And the worst thing is I fell easily for junkfood when the hunger comes in some rush hours. Cursing my weak wills!
4. My Biggest Fear

I'm afraid of chicken. Running away from them everytime and get panic easily when there are lots of chicken approaching me. Probably because I think that beaks are dangerous.
5. My Photographer

My personal photographer for blog photos is my boyfriend, Elang. We've been together for almost 5 years, and for some people who are curious, I'll inform you that we're not always dating by going the natural parks or other wilds. Tee-hee. We go to coffeeshops, hunt books, hang out with friends, walk with the dogs... Just like what the other couples do. But we do love spending most of our time in the nature. He took most of my outfit photos - but I also use tripod when I'm alone, and I capture him back in return quite often (like the photo above).
6. My Daily Writings

I regularly write my daily journals. Sometimes when I forgot to bring any notebooks, I wrote down the words in any papers I could find - abandoned newspaper, the back part of posters... anything. I have a special book contains of my writings about the conversation between grass and the cloud (in a series of letters) - mainly talks about life and the philosophies. I was planning to make a regular post from the series but never sure whether it's necessary or not to share them.
7. My Playlist

from the top left to the bottom right : Cute Is What We Aim For - Hello Goodbye - All Time Low - All American Reject - Forever The Sickest Kids - Metro Station - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Rooney - We The Kings
Most of my friends were surprised to know that I also like power-pop bands. Mom called them the "noisy, boy-thing groups" and my dad said I don't suit their groupies styles. Well, besides jazz and britpop, I enjoy their songs and always put them on my playlist... And it's quite fun to see people's expression when they get into my car and hear the songs - mixed of shocked, unsure, weird feelings. Why there are stereotypes in the world? Should we dress on or styled ourselves based on some ideological views or music genres? I don't think so.
8. My Personal Style

I'm NOT always wearing dresses or skirt... I wear pants and leggings too, equally. Why I wore dresses on most of my outfit posts? Maybe because the photos were taken outside (in some nature spots) and I prefer wearing dresses or skirts for such places. They felt lighter.
9. My ‘Beauty Ritual’

I never put on make-up on my face, just because I don't feel comfortable with them. I usually use lipbalms and sometimes light moisturizer only... I never use powder anymore (except for special events). That's why I looked 'pale' or plain on the outfit photos (sorry for that!). In the daily basis, I only use the facial treatment essence SK-II every morning and L'oreal Pure Zone facial wash. Quite simple but helps a lot to keep my skin healthy.
10. My Current Obsession
The S.I.G.I.T
[The Super Insurgent Group of Intemperance Talent]
The S.I.G.I.T is a well-known indie band from Indonesia. Their songs are quite diverse, mixed between rock and roll, progressive and a bit influenced by britpop - but every song has beautiful lyrics and brilliant melodies (kinda weird to call this band beautiful, LOL, but nevermind). I've been listening their songs since years ago but never really addicted until recently I found a song of them that could represent the dominant feelings I've felt in my heart. The title is All The Time, and I really suggest you to listen to it here. The song could bring you into such quaint style of freedom and eternal hopes. Hit the song, probably you would find it valuable. They're my current addiction!

Hi Clara, you have such a beautiful blog:)
ReplyDeleteBeen following you for awhile now and finally managed to write you a comment on your 'serenity' post. But I guess it mysteriously vanished into thin air!
Anyway, rest assured they were all lovely compliments on your writing and your pictures:)
Eee, thanks for sharing, you are delightful! I'm short too :)
ReplyDeleteYou're 4 cm taller than me! :) I will come back later in the evening and check out the SIGIT as I have to go out soon. Any other Indonesian bands/musicians you would recommend? It's always interesting for me to find new artists from countries that don't produce a lot of international superstars. Especially if they sing in their native language! There's some strange appeal to listening to good music without understanding the lyrics, so that you can only listen to the harmony that the sounds of the words create, without meaning getting in the way:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post Clara :)..
ReplyDeleteglad to know something more about you..
anw,we have the same height..and I think I'm gonna be the shortest among my sis..huhu
