Beauty Tips : Gyaru Make-Up Tutorial

Hi Lucedale readers! This is Phoebe, the beauty contributor for this site (I'm new!). As requested, today I'm gonna show you the step-by-step tutorial of how I made Clara's latest Gyaru look as seen in this post. Let's start!

Basic  steps : do the face. First, create a clear and even base using either liquid foundation or powder (left photo). Step 2, highlight the center of the nose, under the eyebrows and under the eyes with a lighter shade of powder. Then create shadows underneath the cheekbones and on either side of the nose using a darker shade. Add blush to the cheeks, preferably pink or peach.

Step 3 - Apply the base colour, starting in the middle of the eyelid and sweeping it towards the outer corner. In this instance I used a natural shimmery bronze eyeshadow, but you can experiment and use any colour you like.

Step 4 - Use either liquid or pencil eyeliner (black) for the top lid and extend the line further than your actual eye.

Step 5 - Then connect the previous line to the underneath of your eye, but don’t let it go past the center of your eye. It should be thick at the outer corner and get thinner as it gets closer to the center.

Step 6 - Use a small brush to cover your eyeliner with black eyeshadow. You can make the eyeliner appear thicker and bolder or you can use the eyeshadow softly to create a more smokey effect.

Step 7 - Apply a black eyeliner pencil to the inner corner of the eye and connect it to the outer line underneath the eye.

Step 8, or the final look - Team this look with a soft neutral lip colour and lipgloss. Take off your hairpiece and make a big fringe out of the front part of your hair, then let the rest of your hair lay down naturally. This will be good for casual look, but also fancy if you need to suddenly drop in a party! Look at the before and after comparison below to see how the eye-works can absolutely give you different impression :

More tips : For maximum effect apply fake eyelashes and contact lenses. At this post Clara were using her typical soft blue-gray shade of contact lens, with medium thick fake eyelashes.

Then, if you'd like to make a good picture of yourself, you can simply add more volume on your hair or create certain Japanese-influenced hairstyles. Don't forget to make cute poses as well - something like dolly face or innocent smiles. Google the Gyaru girls for references! If you have any further question, just leave at the comment and we'll manage to find you the answers for that. Have fun and don't forget to let us know if you have tried the tutorial - we'd love to see and share the looks!

  5. Phoebe is really talented, I always use liquid eyeliner instead of pencil because it last longer on my oily lids, would you recommend a good pencil eyeliner?
