Born Black

Went a bit preppy today! Spent this Friday seeing my good friend, dealing with new batches of clothes for the shop, and finishing some upcoming project details! I wore my favorite 80s vintage blouse, paired it with a vintage polkadot skirt, and put a detachable stripped bow-tie. Had red velvet lips and grandma's old vintage frame for the topping! The bag is one of my latest design for Bonvieux, wiith embossed pattern on its front and hopefully will be produced in two other color - brown and black. Will share you the updates later!

Golden Thursday

Feeling a bit simple today! Mixed up my mom's vintage high-waisted short, my brother's vintage camera bag, and my Holga together with casual knitted Beanie hat from Forever New and Gold sweater I got last time from H&M. I love gold! It's probably my second favorite color after creme, and look how easy to pair golden item with anything! I guess because gold has speak a lot more impression than what's literally visible. And today, I make gold befriend with blue denim. Tone friendship! Yayy!

I want Yumi!

From glitzy sequins to stylish embroidered designs, the Yumi Fashion Label Range – renowned for its quaint styles and creative embellishments – have long been a favourite among high street fashionistas and Hollywood stars alike. Glamour model Nicola McLean, who appeared in Celebrity Big Brother 2012, wore a Bambi-inspired Yumi sweater during a recent episode of the reality TV show, while both Kate Moss and Sienna Miller have been seen sporting the boho look in Yumi clothes. And now, with the unveiling of the Yumi SS12 collection – which, true to form, was a quirky reception of cupcakes, cocktails and vintage prints – the range is very much in keeping with the latest floral trends as seen on catwalks across the world during Fashion Week. Yet what makes Yumi so quintessentially English (even if the name means “beauty” in Japanese), is the decorative frills and ruffles which adorn nearly every Yumi garment... I want one (or ALL) for myself! Take a peek here and shop away, pals!

Fashion Against Bullying

Last week in Jakarta I came for one fun, crazy photo session along with old and new pals from blogger or Lookbook in collaboration with What I Wear and their FAB campaign. Basically, FAB or Fashion Against Bullying is a growing movement started this year to speak out the notion of anti-bullying from people who enroll or engage in fashion atmosphere and its society. As representative, me and other friends were going to be featured in online and printed campaign with each of our stories. Believe it or not, MOST of people I met in the fashion community grew up with certain experiences of Bullying, whether consciously or unconsciously. And since we quite overcame ourselves with those bad experiences now, we decided to take part and encourage more people to be aware of any bullying statement happened to them and let them know that through their passion (either art, science, or fashion itself) they can produce or chase more valuable achievements than spending all of their time in fear or sadness. We associate certain negative words such as "Short", "Ugly", "Fat", "Chinese" and so on to show people that we were also getting negative judgment before. What made us different (and better) from those bullies are, we keep our head high and chin up, being a person who proud with their originality.

Below are some pictures behind the scene : from the DIY tees in-the-making to the group photos.

So happy that I met new awesome people that day - Amril, Yudie, Adelle, Jensen, Melody, Genu, and Luthfi! It was the first day I met them and by the end of the day they knew me "quite well" until it becomes sarcastic (thanks to my "old" pals Ario, Olin and Anas). LOL. Arnold Teja had been sweet and cute as always... Quite the only one who didn't tease me that day. But I love everyone there, I love being among them! Thank you What I Wear for the great opportunity and great cause to support :)

The Pale Shades

You don't have to see my eyes, you know they smile a million time. You don't have to see me stare, you know I care for thousand years. You don't have to see the face, you know I won't leave you for any other phase.

Because You
Are
Life.

Rocking Bee

What happened when I mixed up a daily jeans bottom and tied-up sheer top with leather biker-jacket and nude heels? A bit rebellious impression with little touch of femininity, all wrapped up by the quirky shade of my tea-shades glasses. Yellow and black as the main tone - like a rocking bee.

P.S.: I got home already with stories from Sunsilk Make Over event I went in Jakarta and behind-the-scene of What.I.Wear Anty-Bullying campaigns with other bloggers/lookbookers. Catching up tomorrow!

A Make-Over Day with SUNSILK

So last week, on March 23th, I flew to Jakarta for attending a super fun event held by SUNSILK Indonesia. Me and other blogger friends are asked for a collaboration project, where we will style 10 contest winners into a totally new appearance. A hair, make-up and outfit makeover at once! There are Diana Rikasari, Cindy Biantoro, Sonia Eryka and two beautiful vintage ladies behind Our Vintage House : Shizeka Yang and Paula Pupu. All of us will do a makeover to two lucky girls each, with our own signature style and influence.

Diana, Cindy, Sonia, Shizeka and Paula, plus me!

My objective that day was to introduce a suited-up style and layered separates to Febby and Putri, the girls who had chosen me as their stylist. It was quite hectic I couldn't manage to shoot all of the girls and their style one by one, but here are some behind-the-scenes pictures from the day :

And here goes the time for taking full-group shots and many many pictures of ourselves!! Everyone looks gorgeous and it was fun to see how we styled the girls with different styles, it gave a complete colorful ambiance to the whole place. If you'd like to see the result of every stylist, do visit their blogs : Hot Chocolate & Mint (Diana), The Riotous Belle (Sonia), DiamondHurts (Cindy), and Our Vintage House (Shizeka & Pupu).

It was a precious experience to work with SUNSILK Indonesia and team from Magnivate group, also professional hair-stylist and make-up artists as well. Febby and Putri, thanks so much for trusting me to do a make-over for you! I hope the girls love the result, and they find the styles as easy to be worn or repeated again with different elements of clothing they have! To share styling tips and experience are such a smart idea actually, that's why I love my collaboration with them a lot :) I hope there will be another chance like this with bigger opportunities for people to join. Thank you again for the memorable day, SUNSILK!
